We May Be Calling You
As part of our commitment to help protect your information, we utilize a transaction monitoring service designed to detect potentially fraudulent activity on your debit card. This service scores transactions based on a number of factors including the geographical location of the transaction, the type of merchant involved and whether or not your card is present at the point of origin. When a transaction is flagged as potentially fraudulent, you will either get a call or a text notification.
This service is vital to our ability to help keep your account information safe, and we need your help in responding to these texts or calls when you get them. If you do not respond, we may place restrictions on your card until we’re able to verify the transaction in question.
It’s also important for you to let us know when you have a change in phone number. You can do so by calling the bank during normal business hours at 229-835-2221.
Debit Card Best Practices
- NEVER share your PIN with anyone, including bank employees. We will not ask you for your PIN, so if someone calls claiming to be from the bank asking for your PIN, it is a scam!
- NEVER respond to emails asking you to confirm your card or account number. These types of emails are not legitimate.
- NEVER let your debit card out of your sight! The bad guys have access to handheld card skimmers and can steal your information in a matter of seconds, so keep it in sight when in use.
- Monitor ALL activity on your bank statement. If you see any unauthorized charges, contact us immediately.
- If your card is lost or stolen, call the bank IMMEDIATELY at 229-835-2221. If this happens outside of normal banking hours, call our lost and stolen card hotline at 800-472-3272.
